Y-Assist / Financial Assistance
The YMCA helps members of our community afford memberships and programs through our financial assistance program. Whatever your financial situation, we will do our best to work with you to ensure that you and your family can participate in the Y’s values-based programs. Awarded amounts last one year from the date granted. Members must reapply for financial assistance each year. Failure to reapply will result in automatic rate adjustment to standard dues. Refunds will not be issued for lapsed assistance.
Membership Account Changes
To make any changes to your YMCA membership, such as adding a member to your account or taking someone off, as well as payment updates, the primary member on the account must stop by the front desk. A request for changes must be made before the first of the month. Failure to do so in a timely manner may result in additional charges. Members may also manage their account through our website: Siskiyouymca.org.
Membership Type Change
Memberships do not automatically change in the system due to age. If you have aged out of your membership type, please stop by our front desk or call us at (530)-842-9622.
To change one’s membership type, the primary on the account must contact the YMCA before the first day of the month in order for the updated rate to reflect onto the next billing cycle (ex: Adult Membership type to Senior Membership type). A refund will not be issued if the YMCA was not notified of the membership type change prior to the first day of the month.
Membership Hold Options
Holds are available for special circumstances and may last up to 3 months at a time. The membership hold form is available at the front desk and needs to be filled out by the primary account holder at least 7 days prior to the first day of the month.
If you want to reactivate your membership anytime while on hold, please stop by or call the YMCA to make that request.
Membership Cancellation Policy
If you are having trouble with your YMCA membership due to financial circumstances, please fill out our financial aid form, located at the front desk. A digital version is available here: NEW-FA-application-2023.pdf. This digital version must be brought into the YMCA or emailed to our front desk at: rose@siskiyou-ymca.org.
The primary must make a request to cancel their membership before the first day of the month to avoid paying any future monthly membership fees. Cancellations can be done online at our website via the link below, or by coming in to the YMCA. If a cancellation is made after the first of the month, the members will still be required to pay for the current month that they are in and will be terminated on the first of the next month.
Non-use of the facility and/or non-payment of dues are not methods of termination. If a member does not pay dues for one month, they will receive a warning. If a member does not pay dues for 2 consecutive months, they will be auto-terminated. If a member wants to rejoin after being auto-terminated, they must pay their past dues to get reactivated.
Membership Refund Policy
Membership dues and Joining Fees are non-refundable or transferable.
Kids and Teens
An adult (18+) or a sibling 14 years and older must accompany children under the age of 13 years at all times.
Nationwide Membership (NWM)
Nationwide Membership enables paying members in good standing to visit any participating Y in the United States through membership at your “home” YMCA. You will need to sign a waiver and show a photo ID each time you visit a Y outside of your association. Nationwide Memberships do not have access to free guest passes at Y’s outside this association. Each YMCA has a limited amount of times per month members from a different YMCA can visit them
Guest Policy
Members receive guest passes based on the type of membership they are on. Monthly memberships receive two guest passes per month and these do not roll over to the next month. Semi-annual memberships receive 12 guest passes during their paid semi-annual time frame. Annual memberships receive 24 guest passes during their paid annual time frame. Guests are required to show ID, provide contact information, and sign paperwork at the front desk before using the facility.
Day Passes
Day Pass visitors are required to show a Photo ID, provide contact information, and sign paperwork upon arrival. Day pass fee is $15 for an adult and $5 for youth.
Photo Release
Individuals who sign the YMCA’s ROL give permission to the YMCA to use any pictures of themselves and/or family members for future program promotion purposes. If for any legal or religious reasons you do not want pictures of you or your family members used, please notify our front desk immediately.
